I'm building a new system and I can't get the MB to pass the post. I stripped it down to just the MB and at each stage I got the same Beep Codes. I put the proc in another board and the error codes indicated the CPU was bad, so I replaced the the CPU, but I'm still getting the same error, 1-Long, 3-Short. Here's the set up
  • B550 Aorus Elite AX V2
  • AMD - Ryzen 5 5600X
  • AMD - Radon RX 6500 XT
  • Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8) 3200 MHz
  • Lexar - NM790 NVMe SSD 1TB
  • WD - Ultrastar SATA HD 1TB
I don't have the other MB available to test the CPU and now I'm wondering if the Aorus has an issue and is damaging the processor.

I'm open to any suggestion because my only recourse is to replace the MB.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

You forgot to pass on the make and model of your PSU. Which slots are the rams populating on the board?

Your board has a Q-Flash Plus button on the rear;

See if reflashing your BIOS helps.

I was using an old Antec BP500U for my PS, I tried another old supply I had with the same result. I know the units are old, but when it's only the CPU. MB, SSD & Ram I wouldn't think it would be an issue.

The Ram is in slots A2 & B2. I tried 1 stick in each slot and received the same error code each time.

I should have mentioned I reflashed the bios with the latest, version. It the LED flashed, then when it was finished, (I assume it finished) the MB lite up and the Fans started, which is exactly the same thing that happens when I turn it on, minus the beeps.

I should also note, prior to the POST, the fan on the GPU runs, and then stops leaving only the CPU and case fans running.
