Was about to pull the trigger on a new R5 3600x but read some cool things about the 11400f. For one I see it priced at $159.99 alot and that's a great deal especially for what I have read. It seems you can keep it locked at turbo with certain boards. Locking it at turbo produces some fantastic results especially for the price. Will the b560 boards lock it down? And which boards do you recommend? Thanks

Solution
11400f is a great budget processor, it usually beats the 3600x.
Here is a review:
There are a bunch of B560 MATX motherboards available at around $100.
I have no preference as to brands.
If you need wifi, buy one which includes wifi.
The turbo mechanism boosts one or two cores much higher when conditions permit.
That is exactly what a gamer wants.

I might add that the i5-11400 which includes graphics usually costs only about $15 more.
I think that extra $ is a good insurance for graphics card issues.

So do all of the b560 mb have a boost lock feature like the z460 boards?

I have B560 and 11400 combo, turbo runs fine as it should to 4.2 all core use.

Confusion between chipsets in your title and elsewhere, X470 is Amd chipset, similar naming to Intel's H470. H470 doesn't allow xmp above cpu memory controller, Z490 does but bios update will most likely be necessary. 11400 supports 3200 natively so that'll be maximum you can run on H470. B560 allows memory OC if you want 3600 ram. B460 doesn't support 11th gen.

Since B560 allows xmp OC and 11400 is locked, this chipset is the logical choice.

I made two sim rigs each with 11400 + Asus B560m Tuf Gaming.

If you get Asus board see here about audio. Realtek HD manager is no more replaced with Audio Console. Can be bit of a mess between Windows and Realtek.

Don't know how other vendors deal with it's audio software but least someone done something for Asus.

What country are you located? You want a board with decent VRM's. If you are in the US this board is a steal atm.
