B75M-ITX USB flash BIOS w/o monitor

I have a B75M-ITX motherboard that currently will not output anything to my monitor (DVI connection). The motherboard remains continuously on (no power cycling), only issue is no monitor output.

I do have the latest BIOS version loaded onto a blank, FAT32 formatted USB drive. According to the AsRock web site, the first step to flash BIOS from the USB drive is to press key F6 after powering on. Without any visual cues / directions, I don't know what to do next.

How do I go about the process of USB flash BIOS update without a monitor?

also Test your motherboard with it resting on a cardboard box beside your computer case.
Do NOT connect the RESET switch to the motherboard until your system is able to boot.
A faulty (always ON or shorted) RESET switch will prevent your system from booting.
No dice with the discrete video card.

FWIW, the USB flash drive light comes on for ~ 3 seconds, then immediately turns off (no "fading"). Anybody familiar at all with this, or with USB flashing BIOS for B75M-ITX?

Power supply is Silverstone ST45SF 450W. I do not believe this is an issue, as it runs my ASUS P8Z77-I without any problems.

I did place the motherboard on a cardboard box, and only the power button is attached to the header. The power supply and CPU fan remain on, however there is no video output at DVI, VGA, or HDMI ports.

Any other thoughts?
 


Unfortunately no. I'm suspecting the issue lies within the motherboard, as the PSU and RAM are both used in the P8Z77-i rig. Sounds like a dead end, unless there are any other ideas.

I do appreciate your help.
 


3V for the battery. I'm beginning to wonder if the BIOS chip is suspect.
 


This is a used board that I bought cheap, so RMA is out of the question. At the time of purchase, I knew the previous owner had issues, and so I figured flashing a new BIOS would cure those issues. However, I did not count on the the lack of monitor output.

Next week I'll be receiving a new chip with the latest BIOS already flashed. If that doesn't work, then I'll cut my losses and scrap the board.
 
I just received the new BIOS chip, and now the motherboard works like a charm.

During power on, I did follow eatmypie's suggestion above about not connecting the reset switch. The motherboard fired right up.
