The b85 would be better for gaming, the only real big difference is that the z77 is a board designed for overclocking.

Why the question about a socket 1150 (B85) and a socket 1155 (Z77) chipset? The question probably should have been about the B85 and the Z87 chipsets where the Z87 is better for gaming.

yea z87 im sorry will there be fps diference if i go with b85 mobo

Performance will be identical if you use a single GPU and a non-K processor.

UH! The Z77 is very well known for it's overclocking ability and strong gaming ability.

The B85 is the cheaper alternative to the Z87 running a 4th gen Intel CPU, However some B85's are pretty decent and are good at overclocking. It really just depends on the board.

Yeah... shouldn't have been a not there. But a newer model motherboard is probably still the better choice for him.
