back to back PCI slot fans?

My current fan setup is front intake, rear exhaust, two top exhaust fans that are all 120mm. My CPU cooling is blowdown. I tried some side fans, but it seemed to make no difference so I returned them.

I'm wondering if this would be effective...

Put a PCI slot fan directly above GPU to draw heat from below, and then put another slot fan directly above that drawing heat from above?

I'm not really having problems with cooling, but wouldn't mind a little drop in temperature.

I don't think so. The bottom one would be drawing from below and the top one from above. They exhaust out the back of the case so sides of the fan that would be touching are solid.
