Wow. It's great to see people still here and playing and doing COOP which
was never done back in '99 and '00 which is probably when I was last here
and actually played Q2 (anyone remember USA vs UK invasions?!) !! And
working to preserve all the great Q2 files which are starting to go away on
the internet. I posted this in reply to another thread but in case you
didn't see it I'll say it again. My old PC stopped working so I had to buy a
new one. A friend of mine got back into Q2 recently and wanted to play so I
reinstalled it and went looking on the internet for files and found many I
used to use harder to find. At the time it didn't occur to me to ask here.
Anyway we've been playing coop in VanQ2 and also using SP maps I found out
there by other people. A lot were not made for coop but if you get the hell
out of the way when you change maps it helps to reduce telefrags. And they
play just fine in coop often enough. Ok so maybe you have to give yourself a
weapon the other guy got cause it doesnt stay but oh well. I tried to
disable cheats in coop but it wont work.
At least you guys are still here, the UK usenet quake2 group is empty,
they're all gone. Just spam there now. I have demos from the USA vs UK
invasions games and I can put those on the ftp site.
Anyway I have a lot of old Q2 files on the old hard drive which is still in
the other machine and when I have time I'm going to get them off it but I
have to try and fix the OS first. Then Ill see whats on the new ftp server
and upload what I have that isnt on there. But it seems you guys have a lot
of it covered. I put some of my files here:

Its probably better if people take them and upload them to the new ftp site
as I have very limited bandwidth there and Ill have to cut it off if I get
close to my limit.
I found a site where this guy lists maps but doesnt have any for downloads.
I have 2box4 and from what he listed and what Ive seen on some servers it
looked like there were some sequals that came out for it but I can't find
them anywhere. The only one I got was 4box6 which is a larger version of
2box4. If anyone knows where to find these maps please let me know.
