Hi, i tried to make a back up of my C drive onto my D drive.
My C drive is only 100 GB
My D drive is only 500 GB

But why is my D drive only 137 GB free of 465? Because my C drive is only at most 85 GB

Did it back up all my drives? because i didn't really want it to but i guess it cant be helped.

In this case, you might have to clean-up your drives using disk clean-up. This will delete temp files, dump files, etc. that might be using up your space on both drives.
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/delete-files-using-disk-cleanup

You can also switch off Windows Backup, if it is set to back up the C drive to the D drive. Here's a tutorial:

Hope this helps.

Hey there, Eriq!

Are you sure you have 2 different drives and not just 1 partitioned drive?
Can you access the disk management and see how many hard drives are listed there?
Here's a link how to do it: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/windows7/ht/disk-management-windows-7.htm
If you have 2 different physical hard drives, you most probably have backed up your C drive successfully.
If it's just 1 HDD partitioned in 2 logical drives, this is not a backup because it's one and the same drive.
And if it fails at any point, you are going to lose the data on both partitions.
My suggestion is to backup to an external drive to be absolutely sure of the safety of your data.

Hope this helps.
Keep me posted and let me know if you have more questions!
