OK I'm an idiot. I just did a fresh install on windows 7 and hadn't got around to installing an antivirus. I used a keygen for Crysis without scanning*yes i feel like an idiot*. 5 minutes later I was reading that some other people detected the virus on the keygen.

So I scanned the keygen which I just executed 5 mins prior which was on the mounted ISO and sure enough it had the backdoor.graybird.

So now I install AVG and Malware Bytes.

I scan my computer but no virus' are found.

I'm baffled. How did I execute this infected file and not receive the virus?

Is it possible that I do have the virus but AVG and Malware Bytes aren't picking this up?

On Symantec it lists that Systems Affected: Windows 2000, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows NT, Windows XP

Is it possible this virus doesn't know how to affect windows 7?

If anyone can give me any ideas on whats going on I will very much appreciate it. My OCD is kicking in and telling me to reformat(paranoid to have cc info stolen) but I just set up my whole programming environment and really don't feel like doing it again.

Solution
Your system may be infected but avg may be keeping it silent!
Malwarebytes is best choice! If it is telling nothing means you can be out of worry!

Uninstall AVG completely!

Use Avira antivir!
Avira Anvivir - http://www.free-av.com/en/download/index.html .
Avira has very good internet security, real time updates, great overall protection.

If both things telling no virus means you are lucky :)
