Backing up my files

hi there,i need some assistance,i am trying to backup my files on W7 64bit home premium,when i run (BACKUP NOW)it starts to run,but the loading bar stays at approx 10percent and does not progress,it stays like this for hours and will not seem to complete this process,i am backing up to my portable 600gig samsung drive..im not sure how to fix this problem ...thanks

thanks,i will download it and try it,can i restore files and games with this after i reformat and install w7.?
