Question Backplane + Storage Controller?

I have a SuperMicro BPN-SAS2-846EL backplane and an AMCC 9650SE12/16ML RAID controller. I want to connect 16 HDDs. The documentation from SuperMicro doesn't really make it clear how I should connect these together. I appreciate any help anyone can lend here. Thanks!

I'm afraid I can't help with the rest, I couldn't find any relevant info on that AMCC card.
