Question Backup restore won't recognise drive

Hi I currently have a problem with image backup not recognising the drive when I reboot. I use drive image on an old do pc. I have done this many times before, but now have a problem. I have back up images created that I have restored to hard drive, yet the drive is not booting. I have selected make bootable at the restore stage. These are new drives that are formatted and active. It must be something simple I am doing wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Mark

Hi no new system just Windows xp . I have done this many times before, yet have bought a couple of new drives as one of the originals was faulty. The back up gets restored with no problem, but won't boot despite selecting make bootable at the restore stage.
