Hello

I want some software that will back-up all my files. When I run the back-up, I want only the files that have changed since the last back-up saved, not all the files. At the moment, I just back-up and overwrite all the files - bit wasteful in time as it takes half a day to do properly..

I am not looking for free software but free would be good.

Thanks - Dan

Could also look at using a robocopy script using the MIR command. Should be guides on YouTube of how to use it. But you can create a batch file to click on to run it as needed. That would so what you want without extra software.

Any backup software I have used will do that. I back up about 130,000 files a couple of times a day....takes about 2 minutes.

Free File Sync, Sync Back Free, Karen's Replicator, Second Copy, etc.

Some people want to keep earlier versions of files that have changed. If you modify a picture of your cat, do you want to keep the old version? The software should allow that IF you want to do that.

If you don't want to keep earlier versions of files, you'd make a configuration choice often called "mirroring". When the backup is run, the target drive becomes a replica of the source drive.....the earlier version of the cat picture would be deleted from the target drive the next time the backup is run.

You could use imaging software, but imaging is an unnecessary complication UNLESS you want to backup your operating system rather than just your personal files. Do you want to do that as well?
