Bad color in 1080p compared to other resolutions?

I've got this strange problem where when I play games, if the resolution is set to 1080p, the colors are all washed out. Desaturated and really low contrast. In 1440p or 4K (native), its perfectly fine, and in pretty much all other resolutions as well.
My roommate recently got himself a 1440p monitor, and he has the same issue, washed out picture when gaming in 1080p.

Any help? I'm using an Acer S277HK and a GTX 1070.

NVIDIA Control Panel -> Change Resolution -> Set "Output Dynamic Range" to Full instead of Limited.
