Hallo! Today i tought to buy a new GPU since my gtx 550ti is not gashionable anymore...i want to buy a Gigabyte GTX 960 2GB DDR5 for the price of 190€.
I wonder if the GPU would help the CPU a little bit..id rather buy a new GPU than a new CPU.

Solution

I think so yes, maybe even on high settings or max settings if you dont get any bottleneck. I dont know how CPU heavy Mad Max is.
Depends on which CPU you got and no there is no way that a GPU will do some tasks a CPU usually do.
If you have a high end GPU but a very bad CPU, the GPU will not be able to run at it's normal speed, because it will be bottlenecked by the CPU.

For example: Good GPU + Good CPU
100% GPU load, X% CPU load (totally fine)

Good GPU + Bad CPU
50% GPU load, 100% CPU load (bottlenecked)

But you can see up there my CPU..can u tell me if the new GPU could use at least 50% from his power?

Normally that CPU should work fine with a 960. But there is the possibility to have some little bottleneck in CPU heavy games like GTAV. But in not so CPU heavy games there should be no bottleneck.

@xXMonteCristoxX: Not completely sure, but i dont think that you will bottleneck a 9600.

Thanks for the answer 😀 ..but i was wondering#,could i play Mad Max?? At least on medium? With the I3 2100 and GTX 960 OC and 8 GB ram?

what graphic card u prefer for me then :)
