Question Bad Cpu Temps With New Cooler

Okay so, I just got a new h80i v2 for my intel 7700k. I go to stress test it and i hit 80C with prime95. is this normal?
What should I do?

Which version of Prime?

Stock, or overclocked? What were you getting with your prior cooler (and what was it)?

No idea what version. i just downloaded it off the web.

I havent stress tested my old cooler because it was garbage, i had it for 2 years, but in games, i would sometimes hit 100C.

If the latest version of Prime, it's using AVX instruction sets, which puts an unnecessary strain on the CPU/temps as a result .... Unless, of course, you perform AVX workloads but, if you did, you'd know.

Try running some games, and see how temps look. You want an apples to apples comparison before & after.
