so i just upgraded to a 1080ti to partner my 2700x. and my fps in games is just not what i expected/see online. a lot of the things i read in forums etc say that 1080ti is just not great for 1080p but i play on 2560x1080 and also tried increasing resolution scale in games like bf1 on ultra/low and get 60-80fps which isnt great for 120hz refresh rate. i do only have 12gb of ram at 2400mhz rn but did plan on getting 16gb for 3200 but i didnt think it would make this much of difference. cpu temps are fine about 34c idle and 50-65 on load. sorry for bad english but i would just like help thank you

i did have 16gb before but it was 3 sticks, but one stick of 4gb stopped working when i updated mobo, was making games crash and running memtest showed it being faulty. i guess i shall just buy better ram then.

ok it will be my next purchase, is it normal by the way for my cpu usage to be above gpu in game like bf1? cpu was about 70-80 whilst gpu on 50-70

I would still wxoect more than 60-80fps in all honesty & the most ive tpuched on bf1 mp with a ryzen 1700@4ghz is below 70% usage.

Something, does seem a little off to be honest.

Id pull another 4 gb stick out just leaving slots 1 & 3 populated so it runs in dual channel,& see if theres any improvement .

You have enabled xmp/docp to ensure that ram is actually running at 2400mhz??
