My specs are:

CPU: Intel Core i5 2500 @ 3.30GHz
RAM: 8,00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 665MHz
Mobo: MSI H61MU-E35 (MS-7680) (SOCKET 0)
GPU: EVGA GTX 1060 6GB SC
Storage: 232GB Samsung SSD 860 EVO 250GB ATA Device (SSD)
931GB Seagate
PSU: rs-700-acaa-b1
Monitor: ASUS VG248QE

Im using the dual-link DVI-D cable that came with my monitor. Fps goes down to the 40s inbetween games even with medium settings and its generally way worse than what is demonstrated here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vt-L3Vwgoc&t=235s

My friend also has the excact same card and gets better fps using higher quality settings. Im feeling like my old 660 did a similar job to what my 1060 is doing now. It also seems like the fps got worse after switching monitors. With my 60hz monitor I had steady 60fps on epic settings using a HDMI cable.

Your RAM speed is wrong, do you mean 1333Mhz?

Are you running 1x 8GB module, or 2x 4GB?? I suggest 2x 8GB modules, as the recommended spec asks for 8GB, so the cpu is probably hitting the pagefile to stop the RAM from filling up.

I would also suggest, if you are replacing both, that you go for DDR3 1600, so that any future "Ivy Bridge" cpu upgrade can take advantage of the slight extra speed (your current cpu can only handle 1333Mhz RAM, so 1600 will run at 1333).

I would also suggest you then set a static pagefile of 8GB on your HDD and stop any pagefile running on the SSD; in fact, for that game, you may find that you can switch off pagefile entirely once you have 16GB.

1. You can never have the same FPS another person is getting with the same setup.

2. Did you try turning up the graphics in Fortnite? It's highly likely that your CPU is bottlenecking the GPU. If turning up the resolution/Graphics don't help, it might be time for a CPU upgrade.
