Bad FPS with AMD RX 580 +1300x Processor

I'm having a really tough time getting good fps with my recently built pc. I would've thought that getting a decent graphics card and decent processor would get me a constant 60 fps for Siege and PUBG on low settings. The lows are very bad in fps and i'm not sure what to do. If someone could help me find better fps i'd be in your debt.

Here's my setup:
Motherboard - MSI B350 PRO-VDH
CPU - AMD Ryzen 1300x
GPU - ASUS/AMD RX 580 8GB
RAM- HyperX Fury 8gb 2666 MHz

Power and memory are fine. 500w and over 1tb in storage

What is your actual performance like? Use a monitoring program such as msi afterburner and monitor your system (cpu/gpu) temps and usage under load

As Greeko85 said, use something like afterburner to check your usage and temps. Make sure your drivers are up to date, if you happen to be using disk drivers that come with the gpu, those are usually garbage. If you do need to update the driver, its often recommended you use a program called DDU to remove files and drivers and allows for a complete fresh install.

Also, it's possible that your pc is not using your card as the primary display

I believe (could be different now) that ryzen runs best with ram around 3000mzh.

Use your system monitor to see if anything else is eating up valuable resources while you are trying to game.

And check to see if you might need a bios update, I've heard that ryzen is really finicky with bios, and there have been quite a few bios updates released for better stability

i downloaded afterburner and the cpu when Siege is running is at 100%. temps for GPU reached 82 C and CPU was around 50 C. Are those temps normal?

Gpu temps could be better but still within the normal range. You could try overclocking your cpu a tad, if you're not already, to help balance things out a bit. Also as mentioned your ram-is it dual channel (2x4gb) or single 8gb stick?

Haha it's all good halo. So 80 is pretty warm, I would set up a more aggressive fan curve on the card, or just set it to a static 70% speed. At that temperature, I wouldn't doubt that the card is throttling, causing stutter and lower performance. Also, you should very likely look into getting another stick of ram, same type and same mhz.

As for the processor, I believe it's fine, 100% usage is a pretty good indicator that it is working like it should be, and while cpu is a little warm, it should be totally fine

what would the order of importance be to start with fixing?
1. Overclock
2. Update Bios
3. Drivers
Good order?

Check into bios updates first. It's a pretty simple process, it basically does it by itself. then drivers

I've read about many situations where a bios update with ryzen is basically a be-all-fix-all solution

And for the record, I've also heard that ryzen loooooooooooves ram, so looking into another 8g stick would not be a bad idea at all. 8gb by itself isn't worth near as much as it use to be

Most likely not. Most people only change gpu bios for bit mining

Don´t suffer anymore: RMA that card, buy Nvidia, problems gone. I am not a Nvidia worshipper, but after 5, repeat 5 gpus from that "brand", and after 4 tremendous bricks that were unable to run decently even the simplest game (Mame excluded, imagine if the gpu cannot even handle Mame...), i gave another oportunity to a gtx1050 "brother", the rx460... guess what happen... FAIL, 16 hours of upgradin, updating, re installing, checking, frustrating, raging... and all for NOTHING that card performs worst thatn my gt740, repeat GT740!!!!. 42-67 fps in Doom2016 (4:3 720p 1024x768 custom settings, almost medium) vs 15-32 fps with THE-SAME-SETTINGS!!!. Tested in W7 32 and 64 bits, Win 10, Win XP, On i5, Core Quad... nothing worked.

A GPU must and should only need to use the LATEST drivers, nothing else. It´s stupid, and an offense to push you to do a grade in electronics, and computer engineering to make a GPU work (exagerated mode: ON), jokes apart, it´s an offense that after paying 150€ for a GPU you must do insane tricks and tweaks to make it slightly work as intended, it´s not serious.

Advice: sell it, RMA it, buy Nvidia, just throw it to your computer and it´ll sure work.

It's the single channel ram. Get another stick run dual channel. Fixed.....
