Bad fps with "high" end PC (prebuilt)

So I got a HP pre built pc 3 years ago.
A year later i replaced the graphics card (R9 270 => R9 290x) and ever since i replaced the card i have very unstable / low fps in games. I have been struggling with this issue for al ong time so if someone could help me it would be very nice.

PC specs:
GPU: R9 290x 8GB
CPU: i7-4770
RAM: 16GB
Mobo: ms78-26

I have been thinking if a new mobo would help but yeah idk.

Maybe he cant respond because psu meltdown.

Quite possible, 290 is known to draw a lot of power and prebuilds are know for installing "Just enough" PSUs.
