I would suggest you take the laptop to a respected PC technician and see if he ran replace the current hard drive or contact Dell support and see what options they have for broken hard drives.

That would seem to indicate a bad drive.
Time for a new one.

Is it still under warranty? If not, can you replace it?
Do you have a backup of any critical data on it?
What OS is on it, and do you have the install media to redo it?
