Question Bad Lag in Fullscreen

I recently got BOCW, and I have noticed that I average less than thirty fps in fullscreen. I can only play on windowed mode, which gives me a smooth 150+ fps experience. I have Radeon 5700xt, so I am reluctant to call it a hardware issue. I have the most recent driver and windows updates installed, too. I also don't have any malware on my PC, so it can't be that either. I don't lag like this in any other game or COD. Also, I should probably mention that my first game playing Cold War I was lagging (I assume I was in fullscreen) and something suddenly clicked. I went from skipping frames and on <30 fps to a standard 150+ fps gameplay in an instant. Not sure what caused this. Any help is appreciated, thank you.

Hi Chenkai. If this is only occurring in Cold War, then I'd be inclined to believe that it's simply an in-game bug. It wouldn't be surprising considering that the game just released, and has already spawned some controversy regarding poor PC optimisation.

When in full-screen, you mentioned the FPS stutters, but is it otherwise relatively consistent? It could be that for whatever reason your FPS is being limited to 30. Otherwise, you could attempt to reinstall your GPU drivers and see if that has any effect.

Thanks,
Jesse.

Thanks for the reply, Jesse. It seems that this fullscreen lag is consistent with more programs than just Cold War. Fullscreen is even laggy on Zoom. I will reinstall my drivers and get back to you.

No worries, I'm happy to help!

That is interesting, I'd see how the driver update goes, and if the issue persists we can work from there.

Thanks,
Jesse.

Sorry for the late reply. From a superficial view, the fix seems to have worked. If any problems arise I will post here again. Thanks!
Well, it looks like it doesn't work as well as it should. My games and PC are crashing 2-3 times a day. The drivers are the only thing that I have changed on my PC. My PSU seems to be fine and is relatively new (only a couple of months, no problems)
