bad memory, memory settings in BIOS, or processor?

Hello. I am currently having trouble with a new build that I just completed. It started by giving me a bsod that said something along the lines of "Page fault in non paged area." I have also gotten other errors when running stress tests as well.
System specs:
4gb crucial ballistic sport ddr3 1600
Pentium g3258
MSI PC Mate z97
r9 280x gigabyte windforce
Thermaltake SMART Series SP-750M 750W

the g3258 was overclocked at first, but after experiencing errors during stress testing it was removed and set back to stock settings. Ram is at default settings as when first put into the motherboard. When running Intel burn test, it always fails after the second point passes. ran memtest86+ and showed errors at tests 3, 4, and 5. switched to a different memory slot and showed errors at tests 4 and 5. Then I ran OCCT 4.4.1 CPU:Linepack with the test type of infinite. It failed after 8m and 29s. I have all of the pictures of the failures as given to me by the program. Could the default settings and timings of the ram in BIOS be causing this or is it a bad ram stick or processor? Not sure what to do.
Oh, and I also ran prime 95 small FFTs for 5 hours with no failures
ram is running at a default of 1333 in bios

Even though the default settings may not be correct? errors in memtest86+ automatically mean bad ram? Sorry if I'm sounding a little rude, just trying to understand the complete reasoning!
