Bad minecraft frames on high end gaming laptop

I have a brand new high end gaming laptop, and I'm getting terrible frames in minecraft. Any other game I play, I can get 60FPS easily, but in minecraft, I can at most get 39FPS, and I know that my laptop can do WAY better then that!

CPU - Intel Core i7 5500-U
GPU -NVIDIA GeForce GT 840
16GB of Ram

Did you try lowering the settings? It's a dumb question but still worth it to ask.

Yes, I have. I can run it between 2 chuncks or 32 chuncks, and no matter what I do, I still get the same FPS. One thing I've noticed is that my laptop is using between 70%-90% of my CPU when I'm playing minecraft. I don't know if that'll help you or not...
