Bad Performance in Games after Rebuilding PC

Some quick context, my brother put my PC together and didn't plug in the front fan so I decided to do it my self. While I was at it, I took out the parts to clean them as they were quite dusty. I took out the GPU, RAM and Hard drives. Put them all back and booted the PC, went fine no problems, I then decided to play some Shadow of Mordor which performed badly with fps spikes all over, then I moved on to Paragon and got bad performance and freezing, then I moved on to Overwatch which would then drop down to, what seemed like 30 fps, and the fps counter showed that it was running at 120 fps.
I'm not sure what would cause these problems but I did not have this bad performance before rebuilding by PC.

Specs (If needed)

I5 4690 @ 3.5Ghz
Nvidia GTX 970
8.00Gb RAM
Gigabyte H81M-H Motherboard
550W Power supply

Sorry if the problem is simple to solve.

First step is make sure the RAM and GPU are being recognized by the OS.

Then use Microsofts Performance Monitor to record the FPS over a long period of play. Then you can analyze if the drop happens or if you can't see the drop because it your screen freezes so badly. If the drop doesn't get recorded you may want to swap out your monitor cable and try that. Normally if there is a disconnect between observed FPS and reported FPS its the cable or the monitor but that software should help you find out for sure.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for reply, I have checked and the RAM and GPU have been detected and recognized, now I will run Performance Monitor for the day and see how it goes then i will come back and say what results I got.
Sorry took so long to reply.

Hey, that worked!
Thanks for the help, I saw your replay tried it then it said windows couldn't find the hardware, then I tried it again, boots up this time and I had a quick test on shadow of mordor and the game ran fine without a problem, flawless 60 when before it was dropping below 30 on everything set to low, I will test the other games and say if has worked completely but so far it seems to have worked!

I have an Asus Strix 970 plugged to a Micro ATX mothermoard, and the card is very heavy, I just have never had the money to upgrade, but I am planning on soon.

Thanks again for the help! :D
