So this error is so rare that I can't pin it down, but it's pissing me off when my PC shuts down when I'm in the middle of something. I can't even find the dump file it's supposed to be creating to figure out what's causing it

Open the Event Viewer logs.

There should be some red or yellow icons indicating errors that have occurred. Look for entries just before or at the time of the PC shutdown.

Right click an entry for more information.

If you find some error codes or other "text" error message just google that and see what the possible causes may be.
