I was gonna upgrade my ram to 16 and my graphics card to a 1060 6gb but I have an AMD six core processor is it gonna make me run games at high graphics bad and the graphic card worthless?

Solution
Depends on the exact CPU but if it is not a RyZen CPU, then likely yes it will affect your gameplay to some degree.

However, at 1080p 60Hz and with a 1060 6gb it shouldn't be too bad on most titles.

Knowing the exact CPU will help tell how bad it would be.

8 gb ram
AMD FX(tm) - 6300 Six Core processor 3.50 GHz
64 bits
NVIDIA Geforce 750

(If theres missing info tell me)

I cant waste much money right now around 300$ is my budget. I dont know if I can sell some components and get some money out of it

Even a FX 8350 struggles with many current AAA titles, hense why you can find them new for less than $120 now. A Ryzen 1200/1300x and a 1060 3gb would be a better combo than any previous 6 core AMD and a GPU over $200.

Unfortunately upgrading to a Ryzen or a new Intel series requires buying DDR4 which is over priced and knock it out of that $300 budget..

Ryzen 1200 + MB +RAM = $287
i3-7100 + MB + Ram= $253
+
GPU 1050ti $156, 1060 3gb $199, 1060 6GB $255

Yeah that's going to bottleneck pretty much everything.

I would recommend upgrading.

If $300 is your budget it's going to be tough to upgrade that much.

Your GPU is not terrible but you are limited by the CPU. At this point an i3 is an upgrade for you.

I would get an i3 7100 and a decent B250 board, paired with a 1050. That should be around $300.

Thats good info, do you know if I can sell my old components and gain some little money out of it? Ive used this computer for around 1 year and 2 months but im tired of running games at normal settings and get 30 fps out of it

A Ryzen 1200 isn't a bad option but it would be a tradeoff.. It has more cores but it is slower for core speed, which usually makes more of a difference when gaming. The plus side is that it can be overclocked. But I would say its about even with the 7100 overall even when overclocked.

The 1300x would be a better all over option but puts you slightly over budget.

Either way it's going to be incredibly difficult to upgrade the GPU to anything more than a 1050 and stay in your budget.

You MAY can get about $100-120 out of both of the CPU, MB, and GPU, but all of us forgot to factor in RAM, not sure if AM4 uses DDR3 but I know that B250 does not, so a large chunk of that would be spent for DDR4 RAM.
But on the plus side it means you can either spring for a 1300x or a 1050 Ti.

Thank you, I also just found my mother board is a "Gigabyte AM3+ AMD DDR3 1333 760G HDMI USB 3.0 Micro ATX Motherboard GA-78LMT-USB3" is it worth changing it to a "MSI - B250M GAMING PRO Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard"?

Frankly a Ryzen 1300X @ 3.9mhz and a 1060 3GB is a excellent combo that will handle anything in High or above details with respectable fps. If you look at average fps it sits between a i3 and i5 and for a tight budget you can't ask for much better unless you drop down to a pentium which can have frame lag.

B250= DDR4 RAM same with Ryzen so add $90 to your budget.

You have to get the right chipset for your CPU. You can't use an AM4 chip with an LGA1151 socket. Don't let the numbers and letters confuse you. B350 is AM4 (Ryzen) and the downgrade of the X370 AM4 Chipset.

Likewise your current motherboard will not work with anything other than another AMD Piledriver CPU

B250 is the 7th Gen. LGA1151 socket and the downgrade of the Z270 Chipset. Both have been outdated by the Intel 8th Gen. Chipset; Z370

You have to get the right motherboard for the chip you decide to get.

But I am in agreement with delaro, I think that extra money would be better spent going with a Ryzen 3 1300x and a 1050 rather than an i3 7100 or a Ryzen 3 1200 and a 1050 Ti.

But those are your options. The 1300x is going to give you a lot more bang for your buck rather than the VERY slight upgrade between the 1050 and 1050 Ti.

I can add more budget but I hope its worth it. Could you add links of the components I should change?

The combo is good but I see better results on a ASRock AB350M Pro4, MSI B350 TOMAHAWK or Gigabyte GA-AB350-GAMING 3. Ram and CPU over clocks seem higher on average on any of these as well as better RAM support and options overall.

I asked for the ASRock but the guy told me they dont handle ASRocks so he recommended me the Asus, right now I have to gather more money for the upgrade haha.
