I've been getting this error randomly. It happens when gaming and upon further inspection I have seen it happens when to PC is just left untouched. The GPU temps are fine and the CPU temps are as well. I have re seated ram ect. I think the culprit is either 1.) The power supply failing, 2.) Shitty UPS(I've tried 2 in a row and it still happens on both) 3.) My RAM sticks. My ram is the same make and model but I bought 2 8gb sticks separately which I did not know is a big NO NO. The system has been running fine besides this. Here are my specs.

In many cases this is due to audio driver issues. Drivers may need updating and/or you could have a piece of hardware causing a driver conflict. Try removing the headphones and microphone next time you shutdown the system and run it for a while without them to see if the error still happens. Maybe we can narrow this down a bit.

I am going to run 1 single stick of ram versus 2(they were bought separately) and I will remove my headphones(Microphone isn't plugged in).

Edit: Going to just focus on Audio Drivers. I un-installed the hyperx cloud ones and updated the Realtek ones(it was old) maybe that was the culprit? Going to see how the system runs and if it shuts down again I guess I'll know. It has shutdown once since I created this thread. It hasn't been that often until now. Will update if it shuts down randomly after this edit.

After some more google-fu I found that one guy un-installed all of his audio drivers from nvidia but mainly the Nvidia High Definiton Audio because his mobo had Realtek High Defintion Audio. I did this and I am going to re-plugin my headset(I wanna game some) and see what happens. I hope this works. Right now I am trying #s 1,4,4,3 (Audio, Wall outlet, Disabled fast startup, removed/changed surge protector.) Okay so it happened again and I decided to run memtest86 and boom I found no errors. What is my next step? I've change power outlets, un-installed audio drivers, updated bios, disabled fast start up. Do I RMA my PSU or Re-install windows?

Edit: It's also important to note that I removed the USB sound card completely because I bought a different headset that plugs in with 3.5mm(I had HyperX Cloud 2 and I got a HyperX Cloud 1 as a replacement because I hate the USB Soundcard/7.1.) This means that there are no longer any custom/propriety drivers for my headset.

It seems to crash when gaming, when idle and when browsing so I don't know what to do I'm worried D: hopefully I can figure out whats causing this but this error is so ambiguous its going to be hard.

Update: So shortly after my last post I RMA'd my PSU. After changing it out and removing the extra Nvidia audio drivers that have caused problems in the past everything ran fine. I installed the new one on 5/25/16 and this all started happening again on 6/13/16. I am at a loss for what to do. I've replaced my PSU. I've uninstalled audio drivers. I monitor temps. The thing is this happens 100% at random and most of the time my PC is just idle. I have run memtest multiple times. I don't know what to do. Is it my Motherboard? I've even re-installed windows and it still happens. Please help me.

I'm having the same problem. After running 10min of unigine heaven benchmark the computer shut down. Updated bios, updated all my drivers, temps were good (65ºc gpu 56ºc cpu) .Thought it could be the PSU (all the pc parts are 1 day new on this build) so I got it of my case (corsair 250d) and installed the cables with the PSU laying besides it. Its been running the benchmark for 40min now with no problems. I'll let the bench run for at least 1 more hour then I'll put the PSU back inside the case. Will update my progress

Yeah. I have no idea WHAT causes this. I got a 1080 and I've replaced my PSU,power strips, battery backup, surge protector multiple times. Happens when its idle or when I am gaming just randomly. It isn't even daily its like 100% random.
