Bad RAM causing Windows install error?

Hi guys,

Just built a new system, spec here below....

Here is my rig.

Corsair - Builder 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply
AS Rock AB350M-HDV - AM4 Micro ATX motherboard
Cooler master Hyper 212 EVO
120GB Drevo SSD drive
Gigabyte GEFORCE GTX 1060 6gb
AMD Ryzen 5 1500x
Crucial - 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory
DVD Re-writer

So I have tried to install Windows 10 via a USB & tried via DVD drive.

Each time I get the 0x8007025D error (Windows could not install the required files)
It appears about 10% into the 'getting files ready for installation' stage.

I have tried different USB Sticks
I have tried inserting these into different USB ports as well
I have updated the BIOS to the latest version

Then i tried running Memtest86

What I have noticed is that this has thrown an abundance of errors as shown below...

Would this indicate a bad RAM stick that needs to be replaced?

Would this be a reason as to why Windows install keeps failing (at the same stage)?

If not what else can I try?

Yes that indicates a RAM problem, IMO. It could be an incompatibility between that RAM and your motherboard. Ryzen is picky about RAM.
You are also running the legacy version of memtest (4.3.7) You should be able to run the new version -- http://www.memtest86.com/download.htm
I don't know if there are any quirks with running the legacy version on Ryzen.

I got the parts list set up on ParkPicker which usually notes any incompatibilities, it did not warn of any compatibility issues between the RAM and Motherboard however.

Looks like i'll be returning the RAM stick then for starters

Check the qualified list of memory on the AsRock website. Try to choose from that list. The vendor has verified compatibility. Also a BIOS update as soon as possible is also recommended. Ryzen has had to have several BIOS updates for compatibility.

yes I did update to the latest version earlier today in the hope that may resolve the issue

Your RAM is faulty. Return the RAM and get minimum 2600 mhz RAM. Dont get the 3200 RAM though as Ryzen has issues with clocks higher than 2933 mhz,

OK Thanks what's the difference between that and the 2133 that I have? (Excuse my ignorance)

Its just that your processor supports higher clocked ram and most of the 2133 mhz ram are priced same as 2400 mhz, so why not get the higher performing ones that will improve performance rather than just stick with 2133 mhz. But amd ryzen has problems with ram clocked at 3200 mhz,

New RAM stick arrived today.

Installed it and ran memtest again.

0 Errors!

Have since managed to install windows as well.
