Bad SSD causing slow load times?

Still having problems with slow BIOS and Windows 10 load times. We're talking 3-4 minutes. I have a Samsung 960 Pro 512 Gig. I have reinstalled Windows 6 times, pulled all memory sticks to check each individually, Pulled the GPU, reset the CMOS, updated the BIOS, and actually RMA'ed and replaced the motherboard (Asus TUF Z270 Mark 1). Right now the system is running with RAM, CPU, integrated graphics and the SSD. Still have the same problem. Loading Windows is one thing but why the same delay on the BIOS? Could the CPU or the SSD be the hangup? Don't have a spare CPU but I guess I could try an old SSD. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Rich

Solution
One of the other causes for strange delays is when the bios needs to reconfigure ram or the cpu to avoid a problematic setting.
Perhaps the cpu overclock settings, or the ram settings.

I apologize if I posted this twice.

Question from ropd7126 : "Very long load time for Windows 10"

I'll check. Asus UEFI bios is pretty complex and I've been concentrating on the BOOT tab. Even so, would that help the long load to Windows?

Time to windows logon is in two parts:
1. Bios setup time.
This may be affected by the options in the bios such as ram checking.
If your boot order has some device such as a dvd before the ssd, there will be a timeout while the bios looks for a boot device that is not there. That delay may be an option you can change.
Put your ssd first.

2. Windows startup.
Windows 10 may be checking or finishing updates first.

My boot sequence shows: 1. Samsung 960 MBR 2. Samsung 960 Pro 3. Plextor optical drive

I've never seen the MBR listed in the boot process before (that I can remember) but it definitely shows up on this board. Another thing, when you go into the advanced BIOS then press F8 for boot process it will show the 3 boot options. If I click on the first boot option, it immediately boots to the desktop. If I just F10 (save and exit) it goes through the same long boot period to get to the desktop.

As far as Windows checking/finishing updates I can see that happening initially but not every time I boot up. We're talking a minimum of 20 starts.

At this point all settings are at default. No overclocking on cpu or ram. But I definitely appreciate your input. Thanks
