Bad time to buy 670 or 7970?

As the title says I'm wondering, with the next gen not TOO far away, if i'ts a bad time to buy a new graphics card. I am not planning on spending much over $300 either way. I have seen both GTX 670 and HD 7970s come close to the $300 range.

When the next gen comes out, I obviously wouldn't get a high end card for 300, so I'd be looking at mid range. Generally, speaking the high end of one gen, seems to be about equal to the midrange of the next. Will this time be any different? Would it be wise right now to drop alittle over 300 on a GTX 670 or HD 7970 or should wait, and get a mid range card as soon as they come out next gen?

Nope, best time to buy 670/680 or 7950/7970 actually. This is the perfect time to buy it, as the cards probably won't get much lower without being phased out, and companies are desperately trying to sell their remaining GPUs before next gen.

Remember you could buy two 7950's now probably for the same price for an 8970. The Next gen cards are also just a refresh. So most likely 20% improvements across the board.

I personally think its best to buy cards now as Nvidia and AMD are including free games (Nvidia are sort of being cheap and are including free money in free games), while AMD is offering Crysis 3 and Bioshock if you get a 7900 series card. Can't complain about that.
