Bad video card?

Hello,
My computer is having a problem. A while back it started making a loud fan sound only when doing something that involved streaming internet and video (as in streaming videos or MMORPGS like warcraft). Just recently it began crashing to the blue screen of death after it froze during the video/internet combination. Now it even froze and restarted just attempting DVD playback and playback of video files on my HDD. Is it the video card? The HDD and the NiC card are fairly new. Video card is a GeForce 6600 series. Kind of old. Anyway, any thoughts out there? Thanks

Sorry, new here. My config is:

OS: Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 (build 2600)

Processor: 2.20 gigahertz AMD Athlon 64
128 kilobyte primary memory cache
512 kilobyte secondary memory cache
64-bit ready
Not hyper-threaded

MOBO:
Board: MSI MS-7220 100
Bus Clock: 200 megahertz
BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. 080012 12/14/2005

Memory: 2560 Megabytes Usable Installed Memory

Slot 'DIMM0' has 1024 MB
Slot 'DIMM1' is Empty
Slot 'DIMM2' has 1024 MB
Slot 'DIMM3' has 512 MB

Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 6600 LE

As for the BSOD error code, it only stays on the screen for a fraction of a second then reboots. I know the code has "machine" in it. That's all I have been able to see so far

Been running this config for 3-4 years, with upgrade to the HDD about 2 years ago and a new NiC card last year.

What is odd is that this problem mainly occurs streaming videos on the net.

Anyway, I hope that's the config info you're looking for. Thanks
