This is my dream system I am nearly 50 % complete buying parts for it. I'd like to finish putting it together by Dec 1st. I think most of you will think some areas like memory and the PSU are overkill. You must understand that I do a whole lot more then play games on my systems. I trade professionally and need every second extra of speed for drawing charts out at a moments notice on a four monitor set-up. I often have 100 browser tabs or more open as I do research, and currently my system freezes up too often when multi-tasking. This new system needs to be fluid with absolutely no chance of freezing up whilst in the middle of a potential trade. The PSU is up there because I will be getting a second GPU and will undoubtedly have many HD's in this box in the future. I used an online watt calculator and I will be using a 1000 watts minimum when all is said and done. Please tell me where you would make a change to add to something else. Thanks for your thoughts.

If you really like it, then keep it. It's a good board, just over priced for what you're using it for. I can't blame you really, I splashed for mine too, haha

Whoops! I forgot to add that in. Yeah, they're already here at the house. I'm going to use one Vertex for the OS and the other for smart caching. The Raptor is for video and art work. Until I can get a TB SSD for $300-400 it'll have to do. Thanks for the heads up and advice. Too much?.....Or just right? :pt1cable:

Don't have enough time to do a build for you, but save some money from the gtx 680 and get a 670 or 7970. The 680 is not a big enough performance boost from the 670 to have a price like that. Unless you play games that favor nvidia like BF3.

Agree on that. 680 essentially is overpriced 670

too late for that, he already purchased it, as the OP states.

Thanks guys. Yeah,I'm hearing that a lot about the 670's. Guess i'll save that and put it in a good sound card. Any recommendations on sound? The Maximus is sitting in it's box in my office and it's just too pretty to send back for a $100 savings. Done. I just love that board. Hope it turns over ok, I hear there are a lot of lemons out there. But....when they're good....They scream!!!!
