I'm not a pro by any means, and maybe this is a common occurrence, but I'm not seeing anything specific to my problem and it seems weird to me so I figure I'd ask.

I was running my computer on a 8gb stick of HyperX Fury DDR4 - I have a Gigabyte H17ON - WIFI motherboard. I bought two sticks of ballistix 8gb ddr4 3200 for an upgrade. Tried to install them - installed one in the slot my HyperX Fury stick was in before. No startup, tried it in the other slot, no start up. I put the old HyperX Fury stick back and it booted up fine. So then I tried adding one of the Ballistix sticks with the HyperX Fury stick and it started up fine. The ram is registering, and I'm showing that I'm running 16gb of memory in task manager.

So then I figured, I must have been not pushing the Ballistix sticks in all the way before, and did this time. So I went back, unplugged the Hyper X stick, plugged in the other Ballistix stick, no start up. I unplugged the second Ballistix stick, and tried to boot with just the one stick that had just been running with the HyperX fury stick, no start up.

Plugged in the HyperX stick with the other Ballistix stick and it's running fine right now, as I'm typing this. Again, shows 16gb of memory -

I have verified on Ballistix and PcPart picker that the ram is compatible with my motherboard. I looked up installation for the new sticks to make sure there was nothing more involved then slotting the stick in, but there wasn't.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Take out you HyperX RAM.
Disconnect the power cord. Do a clear CMOS.
Put your 2 sticks of Ballistics. Try to boot. The critical part is the clear CMOS
But you do realize that your motherboard supports 2133 MHz as the highest speed ?
