How do you turn off the pop-up warning baloons iat the bottom of the
screen?

There are many many such balloons and supposed help pop-ups like this and it
takes a few minutes to remove or stop them. For instance.
go>start\search\change preferences and down the bottom you will see an arrow
beside "turn off balloon tips" or some such thing. Click on the arrow. Now
that's one. You can turn off another by going>start\control panel\folder
options\view tab and uncheck the "show pop-up description for folders-------"
down the bottom. That's two. There are more but if these are all you want
good. If not post back.

They are there for good reasons. What message are you trying to turn off?
If it is the Security Center notification, you can turn that off in the
Security Center.
