Hello people, first of all, I am a person with very basic knowledge about networking so please forgive my ignorance.

I have lots of trouble at home whenever my little brothers play 'League of Legends' (online multiplayer game) because they consume almost all network bandwidth, being impossible for me to watch youtube even at 480p, and other basic tasks. And this leading to arguments beetween them and my whole family.

I've already went to my router configuration to try to limit the bandwidth, but I don't seem to have that option. The closest to it I found was something called QoS (but that configuration has lots of parameter names I haven't even heard before). My router is ZyXEL AMG1202-T10B .

I know there are programs like 'netbalancer'. But at this moment I don't own a computer (smartphone), so having that application running on my brothers's pc will be obvious and they will close it right away (unless there's a way to hide it?).

Is there any app for Android like Netbalancer ? (I only found apps to limit ONLY my OWN device, I need to limit other devices in my home network)

Is there any other way to solve this?

Maybe the router has that configuration available but I haven't seen it/understood it?

Thank you very much for your time! Any feedback is appreciated

That is entirely up to your ISP and the Budgetary Control Officer(your parents).
Several things must be known first:
1. What is the actual bandwidth you pay for from the ISP, and do you actually get near that when wired to the router?
2. How many users?
3. Are you personally on WiFi, or wired to the router? Phone, so I'm assuming WiFi.
4. Who pays for this internet connection?

You have a political problem. A technical solution where you penalize another is not going to resolve it, only escalate it. You, your brother and your parents need to talk. You need to find out if more internet is possible. If so, you and your brother should contribute to the additional costs.

1. I get 2 megabit/s , it is the maximum I can get in this town (already made telephone calls and people told me that fiber is not going to ve available here anytime soon)

2. 5 users

3. The pc is wired, my phone and my familiy members's phones are connected via WiFi

4. My parents (but as I said before, speed cannot be improved)

I don't want to penalize anyone, I want to set the minimum bandwidth to the pc, so they don't lagg, and then in equal portions give the bandwidth to every other device.

We tried to talk so many times, but they play all afternoon and all night, every day.
I would really like to control the bandwidth in my network, but that router firmware does not seem to support it.

Sorry for late response guys, and thank you for your answers!

Is it possible then to pay and have 2 adsl services in my home?
- 1 router for the pc (2mb/s)
- 1 router for the phones (2mb/s)

I know the cost qould be double, but would it be possible?
