Bandwidth on pci-e slot

Bandwidth of a pcie 2.0 x 8 card in a pcie 3.0 x 4 slot? Would the card benefit at all from the double bandwidth in revision 3.0? Sorry newbie question.

It will be PCIe 2.0 x 4. The card and slot will negotiate the fastest speed which is limited by the 2.0 card and only 4 lanes in the slot.
