I need your guy's advice about this system
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4679657&Sku=B69-0079

my budget is around $500 I mostly want to do gaming and this system looks like a very good price for a quad core and 8 gigs ram, etc.. all i'd need is the operating system and dvd drive!! I know the 9400 is weak but I could change that eventually.

If you don't recommend this one could you find one for under $500 on tiger direct I should get? thanks!!

For $400 that doesn't look half bad at all...You can run Windows 7 for now until you get another OS later ^_^. You have to download Windows 7 with another PC of course and burn the DVD ISO image...

Its before rebate too...so shipping costs will be covered (some what) with those rebates if you get them back...not sure what the shipping is.

Please keep in mind that the dualcore is fine for current games but your performance in GTA will give you an idea on where games are going in the coming months...you should build your own system as the first one you listed has a gpu that you where just wasting money to have bundled with it...

You can build an AMD phenom II 720 system that will last you ALOT longer than that e5200 will like a few years longer and you can upgrade to a quad core amd processor down the road and even with the amd 720 build you can stay in your price range....

And depending on your resolution a 4870 is a waste of cash...if your resolution is 1280x1024 or 1440x900 or 1280x800 you will only need a 4770 to max out most current games except the pos crysis....

But there's a $150 savings on the first build vs me buying all the parts separately...i know that card isn't good on it but I could pull it out and sell it for like $50 or something...then throw in a 4770 and I'd be set without much modifications or price difference.
the specs of that first system are very good for that price.. the 1tb harddrive, quad core, SLI motherboard 8 gigs of ram

my max resolution is 1280x1024 on my non widescreen LCD

You don't need 8 gbs of ram...you barely need 4....meh do as you please

Considering your paying 67$ for a pos graphics card that you think you might be able to sell...60 $ more ram than you need....more hdd space than you need for a gaming pc to start out with....ohh such great savings :sarcastic:

Things your paying for here really aren't that good of a deal if you want the best value for your dollar on a gaming rig....
