barrel distortion

i wonder why my monitor has, as what i have read, a barrel distorion in the center part of my monitor but not at its side/edge. its not really that noticeable until i click start, programs and the long menu that appears to be 'curved'. is my monitor needs replacement? i just got this from the store. btw, its AOC 19" flat screen CRT monitor.

Did you make the numerous adjustments and tweaks as per the manual suggests?

the manual didnt say anything bout barrel distorion at the center part of the monitor only. yes i did numerous tweaks and adjustments, even change every available version of its driver. still the same.
