i had a athlon xp 2500+ nforce 2 (K7N2 LSR FSB 400) system and i sold the graphics (6600 GT) and psu (400W) off for $200 last year to part fund upgrading to my current system. I want to build it back again

I want to overlclock the processor to a 3200+ i will need a new heatsink also

my budget is $200 canadian and i dont mind a used graphics of ebay

i was thinking a used X1950 pro AGP

could anyone reccomend a cheap 450 watt psu

and does anyone know of a good heatsink for socket a cant be a zalman design because i have caps in the way

i was thinking of a volcano 12 but cant find them

the games i wil play are Battlefield 2 2142 call of duty 4

How much money do you have because I think you need a new system! Donate the socket A to a worthy cause.

I had an xp 2500+ in a msi board nforce2 and I could run the FSB at 166 and it ran as a 3200+.

I still have it out in the garage some where in a box.

Total in American $$ is 188 plus shipping. So it might be feasible to upgrade into a newer platform for you. Then you can upgrade other pieces as you go. Because staying with the Barton, you are kind of upgrading into a dead platform.

you can get a old 939 MB and cpu and keep you old ram + add a pci-e video card.
