I plan on upgrading my computer next week and here is what I plan on getting:
- CellShock 2GB PC6400 CL2
- BFG GeForce 8800GTS OC2 320MB
- C2D E6420
- Zalman waterblock ZM-WB4
- Abit AWD-9 Max (intel 975x)
I have a couple of questions, the most important of which is about the motherboard. I know intel have just released the P35 chipset, and I unstand that going to be taking over from the 965. The question I have is will this be a better choice than going with the 975x?
I know the P35 has good figures when it comes to memory performance.
But what about overclocking? I've yet to find any reviews of the chipset that give an indication of its overclocking potencial? Also what about the Nvidia 650? I can't justify the cost of the 680 but what am I actually losing if I opt for a 650?
I already own the follwing components and will be migrating them to the new system:
- Enermax noisetaker 600w
- 2x160GB seagate 7200.7's
- 1x320GB Seagte 7200.9
- Asetek Watercooling
- Creative X-fi
Does anyone have any thought/recommendations on the setup in general? Anyone had and bad experiences with any of the components or manufacturers? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
