Its not a gaming laptop - no graphics card, only 4 gb ram, weak cpu.

Depends on what hes gonna play for games. If its some of the higher end games like COD and such, no way it can handle that. But if you're trying to play minecraft and the likes of that, it should be able to handle it. Based on the specs of the graphics on this laptop its just a bit faster than the nvidia GT 740M but slower than the GT 750M, both which are capable of handling simpler games.

i thought the 2GB AMD Radeon R6-M255DX DDR3L is the gpu and is good enough to handle basic games, im not encouraging him to play hi-def games though... the price for this type of laptop here in our country (PH) is around $790.

Your recommended model is awesome! the only problem is im not sure if this available in our area, despite the good specs this is also cheaper than my preferred unit. i hope i could find a local retailer in our place. thank you!

i see, thank you for clarifying the specs of the gpu... im not very particular with computer games nowadays, just one more inquiry (from my son); will the NBA2k14 play smoothly on this unit if we opt to get this model? thanks so much!

Its a newer game, while it "can" play it, its gonna be to be at lower settings. The overall specs seem to meet the MINIMUM requirements, but make sure you're plugged in all the time when playing.
