So, I went to microcenter to look around to start making my own pc. I saw that the new i3s were quad cores and online that they had similar specs to old i7s. My friend's pc uses an i5 6600k for a gtx 1070 and that is apparently a build that works well, so why does everyone keep saying that the i3 is not good if it's nearly the same level as an older i7, which would be somewhat recommended?
Who says i3s aren't good? And for what? It's a budget processor and good enough for what it is.
Bare in mind the latest 10th gen i3s are Hyperthreaded which is more preferable in modern games today, more so over just a quad.
These days, if games is the plan, minimum 4core 8thread processor, preferably 6c/12thread as minimum imo if buy now. Usage in demanding games, ie Cyberpunk, is too much for straight quads and Hyperthreaded quads.
