Basic Question

Sorry in advance if this is a stupid question but can someone let me know what the difference is between toner cartridges, developer cartridges, and ink tanks. Are they just different names for the same thing.

Toner cartridges are for laser printers. Ink tanks are for Ink Jet printers. and i dunnno what developer cartridges are for.

Just to clarify the difference between toner and ink.

Toner is a magnetic graphite based powder, ink-jet cartridges are water based liquid inks.

Toner cartridges usually contain the drum for the laser printer too, and they are a lot bigger than an ink cartridge, Toner cartridges usually do somewhere between 2500 and 25,000 pages of text, depending on the cartridge, and work out about 6c a page as compared to about 15 to 26c a page for inkjets
