I went from a 5200 nvidia FX to a 9250 radeon. Both AGP. Now im being told the nvidia was probably better then the radeon yet the nvidia only has 128 of memory and the raedeon has 256 memory. Or does that even matter. Which is actaully Better? lol.

They both suck. If you have AGP you should get the x850pro from ATI's website for $140. That would whiz all over the 5200 and 9250. 128mb of ram is fine for video, 256 is better if you run higher resolutions. x850pro has 256mb of ram AND 256-bit memory interface which will make it run all over what you gots now.

Word.

I ordered the x850pro btw to replace my 6600 Geforce.

You had money to buy the crappy 9250 apparently. So what's your point? Get a better job.

If not, cut off your Internet, cell phone, and all the other crap people who "live paycheck to paycheck" have but can't get rid of.

Syndicate fool.

It seems to me it couldn't possibly matter if you upgrade your video card. If you can't afford a cheap but decent video card, then you probably can't afford the games that require better hardware.

They're both pretty much on par, the amount of memory has very little do do with their performance.

If you sell 'em both on ebay, you could buy a used 9700 PRO or 9800 PRO for under $50 that would probably triple the performance of either one... the increase would be quite phenomenal for you.

It depends. The cards are actually fairly equal, as long as they are the same type of cards. As you already stated, the 9250 has an extra 128MBs of ram. (truth is, this doesn't matter to much.) If you can, look up the model numbers. Your looking for the clock speeds, both core and memory. (some 9250s are clocked 240/400, while others are clocked 240/333) You also want to pick the card with the better/higher bit bus memory. If one of the cards has a 128bit memory bus, and the other is only 64, then you want the one at 128.
Another thing to consider. You already own both cards. Download and install fraps and do some testing of your own.
Forgot to mention something. This forum is overloaded with babies who feel better about themselves if they call other people names. Ignore them, they aren't worth even thinking about. As my debate instructor said, "he who resorts to namecalling first, has the weaker argument." In this case, I'd change it to "he who resorts to namecalling is a loser who shouldn't be dealt with." I also like the ebay idea. Even a 9550/9600 will be faster then either of these cards.

Welcome to the forums. I wanted to make sure some spoiled cheesewiz didn't give you the wrong impression about this place. Your question was fair and his reaction was not. And while his money management comment is a bit humorous as it definately can be true of some people, it's unfair to assume it applies to you.

Anyway, I'd say both cards are close and the amount of memory means nothing. Actually what seperates those cards would be the memory interface as both come in 64-bit and 128-bit with the 128-bit being better. Not sure which yours are, but honestly while that once mattered more with older games, now both would still be very weak gaming cards for any newer games reguardless of the memory interface.

I'll be throwing my vote in towards Cleeve's suggestion that selling both cards for a used 9700 pro would be a monsterous improvement for gaming. Otherwise of the two, just stick to the one that gives you the least issues and best performance in your games.
