My parents have tasked me with repairing/upgrading their PC. The problem is it's a HP CTO, so I'm unsure what, if anything, can be upgraded. I want to boost it a little bit as my younger siblings are starting to get into PC gaming (mainly Minecraft with mods).

Model number: 550-130z

At the very least it needs a new CPU fan as the current ones motor is shot. From what I've gathered it has an AMD A10-8750 with Radeon R7 integrated graphics. It has 8gb DDR3, so that can be boosted if need be.

The motherboard has a PCIe x16 3.0 slot for a possible GPU upgrade, but being a CTO, will the CPU, and the integrated graphics, be soldered into the board? If possible, I'd like to add an SSD as the boot times are starting to get atrocious.

Honestly there's really not much in terms of upgrade for that PC, its pretty out of date. Here's a solid little 1080P 60-FPS budget PC to get you started.

You can reuse the HDD from the old computer if you wish but Ill include SSD as well.

CPU is a Amazon link because PCPartspicker doesnt have that CPU on it

You can probably knock off 100 or so USD if you shop around for used parts. Ryzen CPUs and Mobos are pretty cheap, with used Ryzen 2600 going for around 60 USD. Mobos should be 30 or so, I would get a B450. You could also look for a used RX580 which are under 100 USD right now as well.
