The title says it all... I decided to pick up Arkham City on sale to relive an old favorite, but I cannot get the game to recognize my Xbox One wireless controller.

I have tried all the most common methods to fix this issue, but I guess I'm still missing something.

-I've moved my controller dongle to the USB 2.0 port, even though every single other game has played fine on the USB 3 port.
-I've updated my drivers, and I have dozens of other games that work just fine
-I've disconnected and reconnected the controller, over and over and over
-I've restarted my PC
-I've restarted the game
-I've disconnected all other peripherals except for the M&KB

I've seen people mention the Device Manager and deleting and reinstalling the HID's, but I don't really want to delete all of them and screw up all of my other peripherals just to play one game when all my other games are fine.

Anyone have any other ideas?

Use a USB cable.

The dongle wasn't available the time I played and beat Arkham City so I can't really tell you if there are issues. I do know some games have issues with the wireless controller. I do have to plug it in in certain situations, not many. But it does happen....Why? Ask Microsoft.

This is seriously the only solution. Or at least the best and quickest work around.

It could be something conflicting with between the game at what it wants to accept as drivers or what it sees.

So, just plug it in.

I wish it were that easy. I have the wireless Xbox One controller, not the play and charge kit. It has a wireless USB dongle that does not physically connect to the controller- so there's no cable to connect. (sigh) I guess I'll just have another game I can't play because there's no way I can enjoy it playing on keyboard.

What? Is it a 3rd party controller?

If it's an official Microsoft controller all you need to do is literally connect a micro USB cable.

That is it.

Oh okay, I didn't know that. I assumed I had to have some special cable from Microsoft. It's not like them to make a product that doesn't have all proprietary accessories. I'll try that and call it a workaround until I figure something else out. Thanks.

Okay, I tried the USB cable plugged into the controller and the PC, but it still won't detect the controller at all. I'm at a loss here. Out of the 50+ games I have on PC, this is the only one that doesn't work. What a joke.

Was the controller detected before you started the game? I remember Arkham City have fairly good controller support. I'll try it once I get home as I'm still in my office.

Double check. Have the controller plugged in and on before you even start the launcher for the game. Also check to see if there is variable options for selecting a controller.

Again, I haven't played the game in a very long time, so I can't tell you specifics.
