Hey guys,

So as title states, I still get stuttering in my batman game. I did find a fix for the constant stuttering by doing a g-sync/fast-sync combo. The fast-sync especially helps the most with that 90fps cap. I have a 1070 by the way, and have a 1440p 144hz monitor. So, the combo helped me for fighting parts, and the predator stuff(silent takedowns on gunmen). However, the batmobile still gives me stuttering even with the combo I did. I was thinking this was a cpu problem as some of my other games have stutter as well, but it's not as pronounced/frequent, nor is it bothersome enough to make a whole thread on it. Another reason besides stuttering in other games that makes me believe it's a cpu issue is that I did one time get it around 86 degrees Celsius for about 5 minutes more or less before realizing it was overheating.

I really don't know where this thread belongs, as it could be either a cpu issue, or a coding issue. I know that this game's pc port had a rocky start, but reports said it's fixed now, and yet, I still get stuttering. So my questions are:

1) Is my cpu the problem, or is it the game?
2) If it's the game, what can I do to fix bat-mobile stuttering?
3) If it's cpu being the issue, what should I do?
My cpu is an i7-4790s. If any other specs are needed, let me know. Thanks. 🙂

1) most likely it is a bit of both. The software was never stellar and if your recall they reached a point where they kind gave up on patching the PC version of it; however, when I play the game frequently uses 10-11 threads of a 6C/12T CPU on GTX 1080 (well I have two but only one works 🙁 ) and a GTX 1050 Ti for physx which helps a lot at 4K. Having a dedicated physx card usually gives me 10-14 FPS more then if i run physx on the GTX 1080 I am also rendering the game on. For me that helps smooth things out but again I have 2 more cores and 4 more threads plus a dedicated Physx card then you to help do it. What settings are you using?

2) if it is just the game try turning off physx and turning down other in-game settings.

3) You could also try running the game at it's lowest settings and resolution to see if it is CPU or GPU bottlenecked. If I had to guess your probably fairly balanced if not leaning to a CPU thread bottleneck. But that is just a guess because regardless the game is very demanding so it could go either way.

Hey thanks for replying. When I play the game, I play everything at max detail minus one or two settings here or there. I also play this game at 1440p. It's weird though, as in the bat-mobile I get sub 60fps but when fighting guys or in predator missions, I am in the 90's, low 100's. Maybe this question can solve whether or not my cpu is damaged from heat.

What is tj max? Some people say it's the temp. at which your cpu throttles, others say it's the temp. at which your cpu shuts down. If it's the former, then my cpu should be good as it hasn't even throttled yet(my cpu's tj max is 92 degrees C). If however, it's the temp. at which it shuts down, then I may be in trouble. Thanks for replying so fast. 🙂

I keep my temps at an ideal ≤70C but anything ≤85C should be ok...≤80C would be better. At 92C your way too hot for an OC or stock temp at 96C your system should shutdown or at the least heavily throttle but I have heard folks making it to 100C before a shut down actually happens for your particular CPU.

Ok. So since you say 85 degrees should be fine, then it must be that the game utilizes more threads than I have. You did say earlier that it uses 10 or 11 threads when playing the game. So that could be it, since that was one of the games that was being annoying with the stuttering. Other games had it too, but this was the worst one.
