[SOLVED] battery advice...

Dell e 5440. the battery is not charging. it says 255% available but when I disconnect it....it turns off. I went ahead and uninstalled everything under device manager (battery), shut down, unplugged battery from laptop, unplugged power cable, reinstalled battery and powered up and still nothing. short of the battery being dead.
What can i try? thx

I have a laptop that doesn't have a battery (i took it out), and the battery percent is the same, 255%..
The battery is most likely dead I'm afraid..
