Battery charger

My Battery does not charge, it broke down slowly over a matter of time and now does not charge at all, I have tried replacing the battery(twice) but once it runs out of whatever power is already in the battery it dies - assumptiom must be that the built in charger has gone tits up. - it is an Acer Travelmate 4070 - any ideas guys ?

Looking at the Acer Travelmate 4070/4080 Service Manual in your other post it looks like the mainboard/motherboard will need replacing.
Thats the field replaceable unit that a tech would use to fix a power problem.

If it's something different - like an DC input connector gone bad you'd need to troubleshoot that type of problem and figure out a way to fix it.

Thanks for taking the time to read my post, I have another lappy so it wont be any hardship to just use it plugged in as I rarely venture out with it, and I have in car adaptors. More bothered about my other problem, replacing the CMOS battery !!!
