Battery Problems Or Solder Problem? Please Help!

About two years ago I was using my laptop and all I really remember was that the cord was pulling hard on the power jack and broke the inside. I was able to get the solder off and replace it two years later (now). But here is the first question, sense it was hard to get the solder off, is it possible to interrupt the stream of energy by applying to much heat for to long in a single area on the motherboard, or would it be ok? Now the second question would be is that when I went to plug the laptop in I saw no blinking light indicating it was charging. So would a battery be impossible to charge if it was left in the laptop for two years at low battery uncharged and untouched? Right now I am thinking of getting a new batter or doing the freezer trick. But I'm looking for feedback first.

Your first question,it is possible that by applying heat for too long to cause a track on the board to lift and cause a high resistance which can cause a reduction to the voltage and current,note that this can also be caused by poor soldering (known as a dry joint ).
Now,if you plug in the charger does the laptop run ?
If not,then remove the battery and try starting the laptop with the charger in again.

I haven't had it charging long enough where it would turn on. And do you mean to run the laptop without the battery and see if that works? Because I think my laptop doesn't do that (Samsung np-rv510-a05us)

You should leave it on charge for an hour then try turning it on and it should boot up,if not you will need to remove the battery and try it.
Laptops will work with the charger with the battery removed.(The charger is actually a power supply)

with laptops you need someone to test the output of the brick. overtime with the wires twisting the brick can go bad. the same for a battery. the quick test is using another known good brick...if it works the laptop should come on.

Can all laptops work without the battery and being pluged in? Because it does not do anything when i plug it in without the battery...

As far as I know all laptops will run without a battery.
If it is not working then it could be you have a charger problem or that the jack you replaced is not connected properly.
Since you had problems fitting the new jack I would suspect that is where your problems lie and you may need to remove and refit it.
To remove old solder you should use a solder sucker or solder wick.

Thanks for sticking with me on this. I have just recently found out that the "Replacement AC Adapter" gives out no power at the computer plug side. This may be the problem!

Yes that is probably your problem,you will need a new charger,make sure it can deliver the same voltage and power as the original one that came with the laptop.
